Norfolk half-day Island Tour

The essential tour for all visitors. This tour is free to all guests who book a Progressive Dinner or Cliff-top Fish Feast through the Pacific Tours desk. This tour will set the scene for the rest of your stay and introduce you to the splendours of this island paradise. A perfect beginning to your holidays as you marvel at the beauty. Morning Tea or afternoon tea served at Kingston.

Island Fish Feast

PACIFIC TOURS PROMOTION: This tour qualifies you for a separate FREE half-day Island Tour valued at $45pp

Enjoy a glass of wine and Norfolk music, and learn some of the Norf'k language, at a private clifftop. Then, to a private property to enjoy a traditional island feast and watch the spectacular Norfolk island sunset, featuring dishes based on our Tahitian and Pitcairn heritage - anna, mudda, tatie bake, Tahitian fish, island style fish, fresh garden salads and home cooked coconut bread.

Leave at 8am for a relaxing one hour walk in the Norfolk Island National Park. Enjoy breathtaking coastal views as you meander to Captains Cook's Memorial. Sit back and enjoy a hearty cooked breakfast. 2.5 hours.

Convict Kingston Tour

Journey through historic Kingston, passing through the graveyard, ruins and buildings that are regarded as the most impressive collection of Georgian buildings in the world.

Spend three hours with a local historian, learning about commandants, convicts and settlers that ensured Norfolk’s place as one of the most brutal settlements of the British Empire.

A must for all those who enjoy history. 3 hour tour.

Trial of the 15 

Let Bounty Excursions transport you to this wonderful play, where characters ranging from Satan to Fletcher Christian defend their roles in Norfolk Island's amazing history. Meet the players and enjoy a glass of sherry after the play.

Farm and Industry Tour

Come behind tourism and see our other industries including a market garden and piggery which supply much of the island’s primary produce, a state of the art kentia palm nursery which exports around the world, a soft drink & liqueur factory where you sample the delicious products based on many of our wild fruits, a vineyard, and art, design & hand printing crafts.

Morning or afternoon tea is served in a cliff top garden with stunning views to the coast. Be Warned – you will enjoy yourselves!

Experience a traditional Norfolk Island dinner enjoyed by islanders of special or festive occasions such as Anniversary Day or Bounty Day, when we commemorate the arrival of the Pitcairners in June 1856, and Thanksgiving Day. Discover the diverse array of dishes with their European, Polynesian and American influences, as you learn from Islanders how the modern Norfolk evolved from the first "Bounty Day" in June 1856 when 194 Pitcairn Islanders arrived at Kingston to establish the current community.

Hilli Goat Tour: Milking and Lunch

Paddock to Plate: Visit Hilli Goat Farm  located on Norfolk Island's best side "Anson Bay" where you will be shown around the property by third generation farmer Emily Ryves. Learn the history of the property and gain an insight into our unique way of living.

From one of the island's healthiest herds of cattle to the happiest dairy goats you will every meet, everything we do is clean, green and sustainable.

A short walk through the gardens and we find ourselves at the milking shed and cheese room. Have the cheese making process explained and then sit down to an exquisite Hilli Goat Platter. Everything on offer is picked from the garden or cooked in our kitchen.

Enjoy a 90 minute walk through our national park from bush to sea. Learn about Norfolk Island’s natural history and ecology with local biologist Rick Kleiner. You will love the views and your experienced guide can assist with information, local folklore, flora and fauna and where ever the conversation may lead….At the end of your walk Rick will  transfer you to The Golden Orb Café where you can  order a full breakfast with coffee and tea to enjoy at your leisure.

 

Behind the Hedges Tour

Travel to Anson Bay to visit a small hobby farm, which has been instrumental in improving our local livestock industry. See a demonstration of Norfolk pottery, and browse the cottage pottery shop. After a delicious morning tea at a scenic location, visit a beautiful private and commercial garden that supplies our local florists. Visit Peter Christian's Kentia Palm plantation which exports round the world. Visit Sweeties and learn how we make chocolate on Norfolk Island.

A fun night for all ages. Dress as a convict & join in with the Commandant for an evening of gaiety, feasting, singing & dancing. Great food! Great fun! Outfit supplied upon deposit. Norfolk's only dinner and dance night.

Visit a wonderful selection of island properties and learn about how their owners use sustainable gardening practices that are so effective in producing plentiful, healthy fruit and vegetables, and pleasure gardens.

4 Wheel Drive Tour

Join John and his island staff - all direct descendents of the Bounty Mutineers, on a 3 hour informative tour to points of Norfolk Island, accessible only by 4WD. This back of beyond tour takes you through private properties and the national park featuring spectacular scenery, native flora and bird life. It also delicious homemade cakes with tea and coffee at a beautiful island home. Great for all ages. See the scenery from a unique perspective. Hear the Norf'k language.

History in the Making

With local historian, Arthur Evans, experience a journey back in time and participate in recreating some of the tasks necessary for survival in Norfolk Island's early settlements.

Pitcairn Settlers Village

Tour our extensive subtropical gardens gardens in our 1928 Model A Ford truck - one of the island's first vehicles. Learn how the original Pitcairn settlers traditionally cultivated the land for subsistence and industry.

Mutiny on the Bounty Show  (Transport to & from Show $11 extra)

One of Norfolk Island's most popular visitor attractions is the Mutiny on the Bounty Show, a dramatic production involving scores of Islanders.

See descendants of the mutineers bring the story of the famed
'Mutiny On The Bounty' and historic events alive in a 90-minute show performed in an outdoor amphitheatre on the Island's western shoreline. You can drive to the show yourself, or for an extra $8 per person, you can be transported by bus.

Sound and Light Show

Nightfall at Kingston brings a different mood to the convict settlement.

The stillness of the sea beneath the stars is there just as it was before mankind arrived in 1788.

However, with dramatic use of real life sounds together with theatrical lighting and costumed actors, the stillness is broken as Pinetree tours takes you through the horrifying decades of Norfolk Island's convict era.

Wonderland by Night Show

The setting is 10 acres of magical Norfolk pines & bushland lit up like an enchanted forest.

Meander along (or ride in the 'moon buggy') a gentle winding path with Archie, a descendant of the Bounty mutineers, as he recites his poems and lights up the dioramas.

Afterwards enjoy a light supper.
