The Coffee Plantation
Tour $35 per person
Norfolk Island
Coffee Plantations Arabica Coffee seedling nursery
has to date provided Norfolk Island with over tens
of thousands of healthy and thriving coffee
seedlings for the purpose of establishing coffee
plantations on Norfolk Island. Currently there are
another scores of thousands of seedlings under
propagation for planting. The aim of the nursery is
to assure supply of proven high yielding cultivars
of Arabica coffee seedlings, suitable to Norfolk
Islands climate, soil types and mechanical
harvesting. This will help develop strong footholds
for this local gourmet coffee industry.
Both plantations have extensive irrigation systems
incorporated into their initial setup to ensure
necessary water supply all year round. Norfolk
Island Coffee Plantations developed a planting
machine specifically for planting coffee. When in
action this machine is capable of planting up to 700
trees an hour under the ultimate conditions. Without
the aid of this machine the setup of a commercial
coffee plantation on Norfolk Island would not be a
viable option. Ready and loaded with over 1500
trees to be carted to the current plantation under
establishment. Includes coffee tasting, of course!
